Pupils at Park Hill Primary School have been gearing up for Coventry City FC v Manchester United
Schoolchildren in Coventry have shown their support for the Sky Blues ahead of the hugely-anticipated clash with Manchester United at Wembley. Pupils at Park Hill Primary School in Eastern Green got into the spirit ahead of the FA Cup clash on Sunday (April 21).
Students held a ‘Sky Blues Day’ yesterday (Friday, April 19). Assistant Headteacher Lisa Doyle said the ‘brilliant’ event was filled with ‘lots of cheering and singing.’
Youngsters Harry B, George Sp, Owen, Harry C, George Sh, and Jake, who are all in Year 4, came up with the idea as they are ‘mad’ about the Sky Blues. All six are said to have ‘lots of optimism’ about Sunday.
Ms Doyle said Harry B, George Sp, Owen, Harry C, George Sh, and Jake organised a petition on the playground, where they gathered more than 70 signatures to hold a ‘Sky Blues Day.’ All of them were said to be pivotal in organising the ‘wonderful celebration.’
Headteacher Paul Griffin was presented with a ‘very persuasive’ letter which had been penned by Harry B, George Sp, Owen, Harry C, George Sh, and Jake. He gave them the go-ahead after being ‘so proud’ of their ‘initiative and hard work.’
Ms Doyle said the idea created a ‘brilliant atmosphere’ ahead of Sunday (April 19). Fans will be travelling to Wembley Stadium tomorrow for the hugely anticipated FA Cup clash between Coventry City FC and Manchester United.
