Nuneaton Christmas lights 2023 switch-on this weekend

Final preparations are being put into place for Nuneaton’s annual Christmas lights switch-on. The borough’s third and final festive event will be held this Friday (November 24).

 

Fireworks will once again light up the night sky as a display will follow the official switch on, which will take place at 6pm. But festive events will start earlier in the day.

From 3pm, along Queens Road into Market Place, there will be more than 30 traders set up for a special Christmas fair with food, drink and crafts In Market Place, next to the Christmas tree will be a live stage.

Those set to perform are Le-Lilia; Aspire in Arts; Alfie Wallace and Attleborough Community Theatre. Nuneaton’s very own Grinch is also set to make an appearance, as he has done at Bulkington’s and Bedworth’s events.

Billy Bates & Son will set up funfair rides in Harefield Road; Newdegate Square, Bridge Street and Abbey Street. To ensure that the event passes safely, there will be road closures and parking restrictions in place around the Town Hall during the day.
