A SOLIHULL care home has raised £3,000 for charity.
Throughout 2023, the team at Care UK’s Blossomfield Grange raised funds for Age UK Solihull, which supports older people in the communitybby providing free support and services across the borough.
In the past year the residents and staff at the Worcester Way care home organised quarterly quiz nights, hosted their very own summer festival, BlossFest and had raffles to boost funds.
The home raised £2,000 for Age UK Solihull and matching the home’s efforts, Care UK donated an additional £1,000.
Rebecca Jacob from Age UK Solihull: “We were thrilled by the amount raised. This donation is very much appreciated and will go towards ensuring our services continue to support older people in the local community. On behalf of everyone at Age UK Solihull, thank you Blossomfield Grange.”
The team at the home are looking forward to continuing to support Age UK Solihull again this year.
Cheryl Harbourne, general manager at Blossomfield Grange, said: “I want to thank everyone who helped with the fundraising efforts, from coordinating special events to those who donated funds. The amount raised surpassed all our expectations and we were so glad to be able to present the cheque to Age UK Solihull.
“Here at Blossomfield Grange, we are always looking to support good local causes especially ones that are so close to the hearts of the team and residents. Residents enjoy supporting local charities, as it improves wellbeing and provides an increased sense of purpose, as well as building relationships with members of the local community.”
