A free event offering advice and support for families of children and adults with autism and information for professionals, is taking place on 14 September.
The ‘Together with Autism’ conference will feature a number of speakers, and pre-bookable workshops including:
- Navigating the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) system
- Sensory support
- Reasonable adjustments for Autistic adults
- Autism and co-occurring conditions and strategies to support.
As well as being a good opportunity to meet others, local support services and community groups will also be present to provide information and talk to attendees. The event has been organised by ‘Act for Autism’ in partnership with Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care System, and will be the first of three in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.
Anyone who is interested in autism is welcome to attend, so long as they live in the Coventry and Warwickshire area. Attendees can come along for as much as they are able. Refreshments (not lunch) will be provided.
The conference will also take place in Nuneaton on 9 November and Leamington Spa on 7 December.
The events are funded as part of the Coventry and Warwickshire All Age Strategy for Autistic People, which is a partnership between Coventry City Council, Warwickshire County Council, NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board.
