Victorian Christmas market returns to Stratford-upon-Avon

A pop-up Victorian Christmas Market has returned to Stratford-upon-Avon.

Visitors will be able to see more than 300 stalls with traders wearing Victorian outfits, organisers LSD Promotions said.

Market stalls will sell food, drink and gifts while visitors will also experience live music, dance and Victorian characters.

The company added they hope the market “brings communities together and captures the spirit of the season”.

“It started in 2017 with half the number of stalls and only for three days, it’s really snowballed over the years,” a spokesperson said.

The event is free and ticketless with the market ending at 20:00 GMT on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 17:00 on Sunday.

Stratford-upon-Avon District Council said the following roads will be closed:

  • Waterside (to junction of Sheep Street)
  • Bridge Street
  • Waterside
  • Wood Street
  • Meer Street
  • Henley Street
  • Rother Street Market (paved area)
  • High Street
  • Union Street

The authority added that no vehicles will be allowed into these areas and security during this event will be very tight.
