The Lounge Society will be bringing their lively and assured sound to the Central Library this April.
The Lounge Society are an unruly bunch of talented multi-instrumentalists, pioneering a fresh approach with an eclectic range of influences spanning from The Fall and Talking Heads to The Velvet Underground and Fat White Family.
Described by So Young Magazine as “A lively and assured sound, embracing a slowly tempering association of atmospheric meddling and sprawling distortion, revelling in the forceful potency they create in waves.” Get ready for infectious bursts of sound, forged in the darkest underbelly of Post Punk, New Wave and Funk-Punk, sculpted with swirling guitars, heavy bass lines and spiky, angular, driving rhythms.
Live music in local libraries gives audiences of all ages the rare chance to get up close and personal with their favourite acts. In collaboration with Get It Loud in Libraries, Coventry Library has previously hosted a number of house-hold names such as IDLES, Jorja Smith, Frank Turner and Tim Burgess of The Charlatans. Audiences give resoundingly positive feedback to this unique literary musical event environment, praising the ‘tremendous surroundings’ and the high calibre of acts.
Tickets for The Lounge Society gig at Coventry Central Library on the 2nd April 2022 are on sale now.
