The sport campaign – Keep Coventry Moving – ran throughout the first lockdown period and is now back
Keep Coventry Moving aims to support Coventry’s residents and the sport sector as a whole by highlighting advice, sporting resources and funding streams throughout the national lockdown period that commences today, 5 November.
The social media campaign will also address ways to get active safely during lockdown, whether that is at home or outdoors in safe spaces.
Activities for all ages and abilities will be drawn on to ensure all can benefit from the campaign.
The last Keep Coventry Moving campaign was a great success, reaching almost two million social media users.
Case studies were carried out as a result of the campaign on individual sport clubs that stood out during lockdown for their efforts to keep their communities moving and positive.
Cllr Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, said: “Although we are about to enter another lockdown, I am pleased to say that this campaign is making a return to keep Coventry’s residents moving and well during this time.
“Keep Coventry Moving was a great success in the summer and showcased a huge variety of activities for all abilities from both local sports clubs and those from outside the city, while keeping residents up to date on the latest government restrictions.
“It’s extremely important that we support both physical and mental health going into this lockdown, and sport and movement are brilliant ways to do that”.
If you know of clubs that are planning virtual activity or training, please share this with Coventry Sport on social media or email at [email protected].
