Coventry’s Go CV discount scheme has welcomed its 50,000th member.
The free Council run card scheme was set up last year to offer benefits to Coventry residents for sport, leisure and cultural attractions in their own city.
Now, 50,000 people are enjoying great deals, such as reduced entry price to the Wave waterpark, free entry to Coventry Transport Museum, large discounts on gym membership at CV Lifestyles Centres, reduced Adult Education Course fees, discounts on Parks’ activities, plus many more.
This week, the new milestone was reached when Sian from Spon End registered her card.
Sian, a social worker with older people has won a prize bundle consisting of a family ticket to Luminate at Coombe Abbey Park, family ticket for The Wave and a festive food hamper.
Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, said: “Go CV helps people to enjoy the great attractions in our city at discounted prices and get fit and healthy, and it has proved popular with people of all ages.
“It has been a great success right from the start, and it is wonderful that there are now 50,000 city people enjoying the great benefits it offers.
“Thank you to everyone who has signed up, and to all our partners and businesses who have joined the ‘Go Family’ and helped make it such a success. We know it hasn’t been an easy year, but Go CV has helped to make a difference to many people during these difficult months.
“Unfortunately, with the COVID lockdown restrictions at present, we all have to stay safe and our venues are closed, but we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back and for the scheme to grow even bigger, with more attractions, more deals and more members as we move into 2021 and launch our great year as UK City of Culture.”
The Go CV card has also replaced the Passport to Leisure and Learning scheme to allow everyone in Coventry concessionary use of facilities.
People who qualified for Passport to Leisure and Learning previously can still get the same access to discounted services as before, but also enjoy the discounts offered by Go CV partners while carrying only one card and pay Go CV+ prices where advertised. This helps to increase participation amongst all city residents who are eligible for Go CV+.
There are more exciting deals on the way, so why not sign-up for a card from home during lockdown?
