A PIONEERING falls-prevention dance programme is set to start in Solihull.
Dance to Health UK is teaming up with Age UK Solihull to spread the word about the classes that bring together techniques from NHS postural stability instructors and creative dance.
Anyone over 50 can express an interest in joining the classes, which will take place every Tuesday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at Solihull United Reform Church, starting on April 16.
Jodie Stus from Dance to Health says, “We are excited to launch our programme of dance classes in Solihull. By combining evidence-led techniques with the joy of creative dance, we are not only reducing the risk of falls but also enhancing the overall wellbeing of our participants.”
Dance to Health say its programme has been proven to reduce falls by 58 per cent and participants experience significantly fewer and less impactful falls compared to those who do not engage in such interventions.
Age UK Solihull’s head of services, Bernice Jones, said: “We are pleased to be partnering with Dance to Health to raise awareness of this new programme.
“Together, we are empowering older adults to take proactive steps towards improving their health and preventing falls, enabling them to live fuller, more active lives.”
